
Stan's dad collapsed over the weekend and Bren went with him in the ambulance and stayed with Stan at the hospital so Stan gives Bren some flowers and a poem. He asks her not to tell anyone about his dad as he doesn't want sympathy.
Tony seems a bit down about Bren. He tried to ring her over the weekend but he couldn't get hold of her. Then he sees the flowers and assumes they are off the Calor gas man who Bren had a date with on Friday. Then Jane told him Bren was wearing a skirt on Friday night. He thinks they spent the night together but is happy when Stan tells him what happened.
Jean's husband, Keith, has left her for a dental hygienist. Jean is understandably upset but she is taking her anger out on the girls and the customers. Bren tries to talk to her but she doesn't listen. The girls have had enough and phone Jean's sister Peggy. She comes and takes Jean back to her house to look after her.
Jane, Tony and a few others are going on holiday to Marbella but someone has dropped out. Jane tells Tony that Steve Greengrass wants to go but asks if there is anyone he wants to bring. He suggests Bren and Jane agrees as she has never had a proper holiday. Tony asks Bren and she says yes. He tells Anita to tell Bren she needs to ring Jane to tell her but Anita doesn't pass on the message so Jane tells Steve he can go.
Bren talks to Steve about Jane asking her first but Steve tells her he has missed his last three holidays because he had chicken pox, slipped on a quiche and his mum was on trial for shoplifing. Bren decides to let him go.
Anita spills orange juice at the top of the stairs but before anyone has chance to clean it up somebody slips on it and falls down the stairs. It turns out to be Steve and he's broke his knee so can't go to Marbella, which means Bren can go after all.
Petula pops in with her new boyfriend Reg. She tells Bren she's now parked her caravan at the petrol station. She then tells Bren her other news...she's pregnant! She says she is being a surrogate for Gwenyth Paltrow.
