Philippa comes in as the new manager of Human Resources at the start of series one. She's full of ideas to get the girls doing something such a country dancing or feng shui but it goes down like a lead balloon with the girls.
She is quite scatty and disorganised and is initally only there because she is in a relationship with Mr Michael the factory owner.
During series two, she gets a bit bored and fed up of Mr Michael and plans to dump him. She gets herself a book that tells her how to do it but he jumps in and ends it with her first which infuriates her. She later gets into a relationship with another man at the factory, Tom Murray.
She tries to be helpful and sort out problems with the canteen or the girls, but often is no help whatsoever, like when Stan shut himself in the toilets in a bad mood. Philippa tried to follow guidelines to help but just made him even worse.
