Jean is married to Keith during series one and they have a daughter called Lisa. But, at the beginning of series two, Keith runs off with a "lipless dental hygienist" to Cardiff. It takes Jean a while to get over it and the girls call her sister Peggy to look after her. However, after she gets back to her old self she gets a new boyfriend called Barry with whom she has a lot of sex. After they split up she ends up with Stan.
She is Dolly's best friend but is often victim of her cutting remarks, mainly about her hips. She can give back as good as she gets though.
Jean cannot read properly without her glasses so often misreads words such as when she tells the others there is a film called Regrets on the TV. They all launch into a conversation wondering what it will be about when Jean realises it's actually Rugrats that's on!
