Dolly likes to think of herself as the most upper class of the dinnerladies. She used to work at the much more upmarket Cafe Bon Bon and plans to retire to Mobberley.
She doesn't like people using bad language and comes across as a prude. However she often mocks Jean for not having a "full sex life". She's been married to Bob for thirty years and has a son who lives with a marine biologist called Marcus.
She is best friends with Jean but they love to wind each other up with Dolly often referring to Jean's wide hips and large bottom.
Dolly is on a permanent diet but some days allows herself full fat milk in her tea. She has her own scales at work and often gets them out to weigh herself.
